The Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie) are a mid-altitude mountain range in Lower Silesia in south-western Poland and form part of the Central Sudetes. The range’s highest summit is Wielka Sowa at 1,015 metres.
Trails cross the range linking forested ridges, viewpoints and small settlements; the area is popular for hiking, mountain biking and winter walking, with mountain shelters and marked routes. The mountains are also known for extensive subterranean works from the World War II era, built into the bedrock beneath parts of the range.
Located within Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the Owl Mountains lie inland from the Silesian lowlands and are reachable from regional towns such as Wałbrzych and Dzierżoniów, forming a distinct landscape of rounded forested summits and human-made underground structures.
