How to Get to Otavalo Canton #
Otavalo Canton is best reached from Quito: drive north on the Panamericana/E35 for about 80-100 km (roughly 1.5-2 hours, depending on traffic) and follow signs for Otavalo/Imbabura. Regular interprovincial buses run from Quito’s north bus terminal (Terminal Carcelén) direct to Otavalo town; the bus ride takes around 2 hours.
In Otavalo the main market and plaza are a short walk from the town bus terminal (about 10-15 minutes on foot). Once in town you can walk between the market, Plaza de los Ponchos and nearby communities.
