A substantial redesign of the public space was carried out and completed in the late 2010s to 2020, updating paving, lighting and planting to improve pedestrian access.

From Athens airport the drive is roughly 30-45 minutes (about 35 km) via the A6/Attiki Odos into the city; interurban buses and taxis provide direct access to the central metro network.
