Situated on the banks of the Yellow River, Lanzhou is the capital of Gansu Province and an interesting place to spend a day or two sightseeing and taking it easy.
Lanzhou has plenty of tourist attractions and it is easy to spend several days exploring here. A trip along the Yellow River should be top of the list, combined with visits to the city’s temples and mountains for pretty viewpoints. The Gansu Provincial Museum is also an interesting place to visit for those interested in the history of the Silk Road.
Lanzhou is well connected to most of the region’s towns and cities by bus and train, making onward travel convenient and simple. Stock up on products from the vibrant Hezheng Lu Night Market before continuing to explore Gansu Province.
