Ca Na Travel Guide

Once an important city in the Champa Empire; Ca Na is now a small Vietnamese fishing village with a selection of accommodation options and an attractive beach.

The Champa Kingdom looked a lot like an Indian culture compared to its Buddhist neighbors. Hinduism was the main religion in this region until the late 1600s when kingdom crumbled. Today the only Champa remnants are tower-like shrines in the arid countryside.

The beach accommodation is half a mile north of the fishing village. Follow the National Highway 1A until you are just far enough out that seclusion starts to set in. The beach is strewn with boulders, so shooting photographs is more rewarding than sunbathing and swimming. There is a modest stretch of sand for avid beachgoers.

Getting There#

Ca Na is out in the middle of nowhere, but long-haul buses traveling between Nha Trang (home to the largest and closest international airport) and Mui Ne can drop tourists here. Phan Rang is the closest city with an actual Ca Na bus route, and travel time takes an hour.
