Oiti National Park protects the Mount Oeta (Oiti) massif in Central Greece and conserves a range of habitats from conifer forests to alpine plateaus. The mountain range reaches approximately 2,152 metres at its highest points.
Hiking trails, mountain paths and scattered traditional villages are the main draw for visitors, who come for day hikes, nature observation and mountain scenery. The park contains forested slopes, high plateaus and springs that support varied flora and fauna.
The area has long been used for seasonal pastoralism and is tied to Greek myth-Mount Oeta is traditionally associated with the death of Heracles. Modern protection focuses on conserving habitats and supporting low-impact recreation.
The park spans parts of Central Greece, covering sections of the Mount Oeta range inland from the Malian Gulf; the nearest sizeable town is Lamia.
