How to Get to Nukulau #

Nukulau is a small island in Laucala Bay close to Suva (Fiji’s capital). The usual way to get there is by boat or private water taxi from Suva’s waterfront/harbour; it is a short boat trip from the capital and trips are arranged from Suva rather than by scheduled public ferry.

Tips for Visiting Nukulau #

  • Head out from Suva in the early morning when winds are lighter and the harbour is calmer; that usually gives the smoothest crossing to Nukulau and clearer water for snorkeling.
  • There's no regular public ferry or on‑island facilities - most visitors arrive by private boat or a prearranged water taxi from Suva, so book pickup/return times with your skipper before you land.
  • Plan your visit as a day trip only: there's no accommodation on the island and limited services, so confirm transport and timings to avoid being stranded when conditions change.
