New Castle of Ansembourg

The New Castle of Ansembourg is a Baroque château in the village of Ansembourg in central Luxembourg. It is one of the principal historic houses in the Valley of the Seven Castles.

The site comprises a formal house with terraced gardens and ornamental landscaping that are the main draw for day visits. The gardens are laid out beside the main building and are the primary reason people visit rather than extensive interior galleries.

The château was constructed and remodelled during the early modern period and sits near an older medieval stronghold, creating a paired old-and-new castle complex. Over time the house and gardens were altered to reflect changing tastes in architecture and landscape design.

It stands in the village of Ansembourg in the Canton of Mersch, within the valley known as the Valley of the Seven Castles in central Luxembourg.
