Nazca Travel Guide
City City in Ica, Peru
The desert around Nazca keeps its lines and graveyards; tourists take short flights to see the geoglyphs, visit the small archaeology museum, and study ancient aqueducts called puquios.
Why Visit Nazca? #
This desert city is the gateway to one of archaeology’s most famous enigmas: the Nazca Lines. Many visitors come to see the geoglyphs from a small plane, while nearby sites such as the Cahuachi ceremonial center and the María Reiche Museum deepen understanding of the Nazca culture. The surrounding arid landscape and ancient aqueducts (puquios) add a striking, historical context that feels unlike other Peruvian destinations.
