How to Get to Myrtos Pyrgos #
Myrtos (Myrtos village) sits on the southern side of Crete’s Lasithi region. From Ierapetra (roughly 45-60 minutes by car) follow regional roads toward villages on the south coast; local signage will point to Myrtos. The tower is within the village - a short walk from the central road and parish church. Parking is limited on narrow lanes, so arrive by midday or late afternoon when space is easier to find.

- Approach the tower from the village - the narrow lanes around Myrtos show more of everyday Cretan life than the parking lot does.
- Bring a wide-angle lens for the squat stone silhouette; the tower is small and close-up shots capture texture better than wide vistas.
- Look for patched mortar and different stones in the wall - the tower was repaired several times, and the repairs tell the story of raids and reconstructions.
