Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (commonly MACRO) is Rome’s municipal institution for contemporary art, presenting rotating exhibitions of Italian and international artists. The museum operates more than one venue and stages temporary shows, installations and public programmes.

One site occupies a converted central building used for focused temporary exhibitions, while a second venue in the Testaccio district - adapted from a former industrial complex - hosts larger shows and site-specific projects. The institution’s programme includes exhibitions, performances, talks and educational activities.
