Museum aan de Stroom

Museum aan de Stroom (MAS) is a museum and cultural building in Antwerp’s Eilandje district on the River Scheldt that opened in the early 21st century. The distinctive modern building houses exhibitions on the city, port, trade and migration and functions as a civic museum.

Exhibition spaces are arranged over multiple floors and the building features a central atrium and a publicly accessible rooftop terrace that provides panoramic views over the port and the city. Galleries present a mix of permanent displays and temporary exhibitions that explore Antwerp’s maritime and urban history.

The building was designed as a landmark for the redeveloped port district and contains galleries, public spaces and a museum shop and café. The rooftop is frequently used as an orientation point for visitors and locals.

MAS sits on the north bank of the River Scheldt in Antwerp’s Eilandje neighbourhood, close to docks, the port museum, and other maritime heritage sites.
