Musei della Cartiera Papale

The Musei della Cartiera Papale is a museum complex in Fabriano, Marche, dedicated to the history and craft of paper production. It interprets the town’s long papermaking tradition and the technology of watermarks.

The buildings are part of Fabriano’s once-extensive network of paper mills that developed from the medieval period into the early modern era. Over time industrial processes modernized while a portion of the historic complex was preserved and converted into a museum to document techniques and collections.

Located in the town of Fabriano in the Marche region of central Italy, the museum sits within the historic industrial quarter associated with papermaking and is easily reached from Fabriano town centre.
