Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge is Paris’s national museum for the Middle Ages, housed in a medieval townhouse complex combined with Gallo-Roman remains. The museum is notable for medieval sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, and textiles.

The six famous late medieval tapestries known as The Lady and the Unicorn, extensive carved stonework and sculpture, and in-situ remains of Roman baths dating to the ancient city of Lutetia. Galleries display metalwork, stained glass, and everyday objects illustrating medieval daily life and religion.

The core building, the Hôtel de Cluny, dates to the late 15th century and was adapted over time to display the national collection of medieval art. The museum assembled medieval holdings during the 19th and 20th centuries to preserve and interpret France’s medieval heritage.

The museum sits in central Paris’s Latin Quarter, close to the Sorbonne and the Seine, in a dense urban setting of narrow streets and historic buildings.
