How to Get to Mungada Ridge National Park #

Mungada Ridge lies in WA’s Mid West mineral country, roughly 350-400 km north of Perth by road. The nearest service towns are in the Perenjori-Mingenew range; from those towns travel on regional sealed and unsealed roads, with the last stretches often unmanaged. Contact the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) for the latest access and safety information before heading out.

Tips for Visiting Mungada Ridge National Park #

  • Respect signs and Indigenous cultural sites: the ridge contains sacred places and rare plants; access is controlled in certain areas.
  • Visit in late winter and spring for the best wildflower displays - take binoculars for rare orchids and small endemic plants.
  • Take a full tank of fuel and a reliable vehicle; the surrounding roads are often remote and unsealed.
  • Do not attempt to collect rocks or plants - many species on the banded ironstone formations are legally protected.
