Mullingar is served by its own Iarnród Éireann station on the Dublin-Sligo line and is easiest to reach by train from Dublin. For air arrivals use Dublin Airport (DUB) and continue by coach or rail into the town.

By Air

Dublin Airport (DUB): From Dublin Airport you can reach Mullingar by transferring into Dublin city and taking an Iarnród Éireann train from Dublin Connolly to Mullingar (see train card). Aircoach or local buses link the airport with the city centre; expect the transfer to central Dublin to take 25-40 minutes and cost around €8-€10 for Aircoach singles. A taxi direct from Dublin Airport to Mullingar typically takes about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic and costs roughly €90-€120.

Ireland West Airport Knock (NOC): Knock is farther west and can be useful if you arrive there. From Knock you can take a taxi (about 45-60 minutes to Mullingar) or combine a local bus to a larger hub then rail; expect taxi costs in the region of €60-€90 and travel times around 45-75 minutes depending on routing.
