Mount Isa Airport (ISA): Mount Isa has a regional airport (ISA) with regular flights from Brisbane (BNE) and Townsville (TSV) operated by Qantas/QantasLink and Regional Express. The airport is about 4-6 km from the city centre; a taxi or ride-hail takes roughly 10-15 minutes and fares are typically AUD 15-30.
Townsville Airport (TSV) / Brisbane Airport (BNE): If arriving from larger international gateways you will usually connect via Townsville or Brisbane. Flights to Mount Isa from these cities take 1.5-2 hours from Brisbane and around 1 hour from Townsville; coach alternatives are much longer.
Bus / Coach: Long-distance coach services (e.g., Greyhound Australia) connect Mount Isa with other Queensland towns such as Townsville and Longreach. Travel times are long (several hours to overnight) depending on the route-coaches are useful for travellers on a budget or carrying lots of gear.
