How to Get to Monte Zebrù #
Access is usually from the Stelvio/Passo dello Stelvio area or from the Val Zebrù approaches near the village of Peio and Solda/Schuls. Regional buses connect from Bolzano to the Stelvio area; drive on the SS38 (Stelvio road) and follow local signage to trailheads. Local mountain guides operate from nearby towns and are strongly recommended for non‑locals.
Tips for Visiting Monte Zebrù #
- If approaching from the Stelvio side, park at the Solda/Schuls lifts and use local trail junctions to avoid long forested approaches.
- The standard ascent often crosses glacier and steep snowfields-rope up if snow is present late in the season.
- Bring a topo map of the Ortles‑Cevedale; the ridge choices are obvious only in clear weather.
