Monte Tamaro is a mountain in the Swiss canton of Ticino notable for panoramic summit views and visitor facilities. It forms part of the Lugano-Bellinzona alpine foothills.
The summit area is reached by an aerial cableway from Rivera and offers walking paths, viewpoints and family-friendly outdoor activities. The peak provides wide views across the Ticino region and toward Lake Maggiore and the alpine foothills.
Local routes and visitor infrastructure developed in the 20th century to provide access from the valley and to support tourism and day visits. The cableway is the primary means of carrying visitors to the summit area.
