Monte Faito

Monte Faito is a mountain in the Monti Lattari range of Campania, southern Italy, rising to roughly 1,100 metres above sea level and overlooking the Bay of Naples. It is a well-known local recreational area with mountain woodland and viewpoints toward the sea.

The summit zone contains several viewing points and short walking trails; clear days afford wide panoramas over the Gulf of Salerno, the Sorrentine Peninsula and nearby islands. A cable car provides direct access from Castellammare di Stabia, and routes link the ridge to longer hikes on the Monti Lattari.

The area developed as a leisure and excursion destination in the 20th century with infrastructure to support day visitors and hikers. The cable car is the principal modern access feature connecting the coastal towns with the higher slopes.

Monte Faito sits above the Sorrentine coast in Campania, close to Castellammare di Stabia and Vico Equense, roughly 30 kilometres southeast of the city of Naples.
