Millstream Falls National Park

Millstream Falls National Park is a small protected area in Far North Queensland on the Atherton Tablelands that conserves two waterfalls on the Herbert River. It is best known for Big Millstream Falls, the park’s broad single-drop waterfall.

The park’s highlights are the two falls and the short riverside walks that give multiple viewpoints; a main picnic and lookout area provides the primary access for day visitors. Trails are short and designed for easy viewing of the falls rather than long hikes.

The park was reserved to protect the riverine rainforest and the waterfalls and sits within the traditional lands of local Aboriginal communities. Management focuses on conserving riparian habitat and visitor access to the falls.

The reserve lies on the upper Herbert River in the Atherton Tablelands near the town of Ravenshoe in Far North Queensland, set within plateau country and tropical rainforest.
