Maryborough, Queensland City
Australian city in Queensland state
A Queensland river port with preserved Victorian streets and wharf-side museums. Visitors float on the Mary River, tour colonial cottages, and sample local produce at farmers’ markets that recall the town’s gold-rush and shipbuilding past.
Why Visit Maryborough, Queensland?#
Heritage architecture and literary history draw many here, offering a distinctly Australian small‑town experience. The birthplace of P.L. Travers is a magnet for Mary Poppins fans, while streets of colonial timber buildings, Queens Park and riverside promenades show off 19th‑century prosperity. Regular markets, river cruises on the Mary River and nearby national parks make it a relaxed base for history, family-friendly events and nature outings.
