Maljen is a mountain massif in central-west Serbia, in the administrative region of Central Serbia. It is known regionally as a recreational area with a developed plateau used for tourism.
The massif contains the Divčibare plateau, which provides a concentration of short hiking routes, forested walks and a small ski area with slopes and lifts. Trails through pine forests and open meadows are used for day trips and weekend stays.
Historically the area developed as a local leisure and health destination in the 20th century; infrastructure has grown around the plateau to serve domestic tourists. Land use is a mix of recreational facilities, pastures and managed woodland.
Maljen sits near the town of Valjevo in western Central Serbia and forms part of the surrounding upland landscape. The site is accessed by regional roads from nearby towns and serves as a local mountain resort.
