Tips for Visiting Lozen Mountain #
- Aim for early morning or late afternoon to get the clearest views of Sofia and Vitosha and to avoid the midday haze and heat common in summer; mornings also tend to be much quieter on the trails.
- Approach from the village of Lozen (the shortest, most direct trailheads and parking are on the village side) rather than attempting long drives around the range; local footpaths from Dolni Lozen and nearby villages give the most straightforward access.
- Take a short diversion to the Lozen Monastery area at the mountain's foothills-many day hikers miss this historic site and the nearby local viewpoints before starting the main ascent.
