Facilities include marked picnic grounds and car parks rather than large commercial visitor centres. Wildlife viewing and short bushwalks are the main attractions.
The park was set aside to protect remnant native bushland along the Lane Cove River and to provide recreational space for Sydney residents. Management focuses on conservation of native plants and animals and provision of low-impact recreation.
