Lake Hévíz

Lake Hévíz is a thermal spa lake near the town of Hévíz in Zala County, western Hungary, known as the largest natural thermal lake suitable for bathing. The lake is fed by a thermal spring and supports year-round spa bathing and therapeutic treatments.

The lake’s warm, mineral-rich waters and organic mud are used for medical and recreational bathing; water temperatures commonly keep the surface comfortably warm even in cooler months. Facilities around the lake include promenades, spa buildings and therapeutic services focused on rheumatic and musculoskeletal treatments.

Lake Hévíz lies a few kilometres from the town of Hévíz and is west of Lake Balaton, approximately 10-15 km from the larger town of Keszthely on Hungary’s western Balaton shore. The site is accessible by road and is a regional spa destination.
