La Mandria Regional Park is a large protected area in Piedmont, north of the city of Turin, conserving woodland, pasture and historic buildings from a former Savoy hunting estate. The park combines natural habitats with cultural heritage linked to the royal grounds.
Visitors use the park for walking, cycling and horseback riding on a network of tracks that cross forests and open meadows, and to visit the estate buildings associated with the former hunting grounds. Guided visits and interpretive materials cover both natural and historic features.
The park was created in the late 20th century to protect the estate landscape and its biodiversity while allowing public access for recreation. Management maintains a mix of habitat conservation and cultural-site preservation.
La Mandria lies immediately north of Turin and is accessed from the Venaria/Turin area, forming one of the larger green belts adjoining the metropolitan zone.

How to Get to La Mandria Regional Park #
La Mandria sits to the north of Turin, adjacent to the town of Venaria Reale. From Turin take the Strada Provinciale toward Venaria (approx. 20-30 minutes by car). Public transport: buses from Torino (GTT services) run to Venaria; from the town center it is a short cycle or 20-40 minute walk to park entrances such as Borgo Castello.

- Enter via the Borgo Castello or Cascina Brero entrances to avoid long walks from the rail stops.
- Rent a bike at the park gate if planning to cover several kilometers-the avenues are long and flat.
- Keep an eye out for fallow deer and the odd wild boar near dusk; they are habituated to the park's large open areas.
- Combine a visit with the nearby Reggia di Venaria (10 minutes by car) for a contrasting royal-and-wild day.
