How to Get to La Ligua
La Ligua is a coastal town in the Valparaíso Region commonly reached by road from Santiago. Intercity buses are frequent and convenient; driving gives more flexibility for exploring the coast.
Arturo Merino Benítez / Santiago International Airport (SCL): The main international gateway for central Chile. La Ligua is about 140-170 km northwest of Santiago (approx. 1.5-2.5 hours by car depending on traffic). Taxis and private transfers from SCL to La Ligua are available but costly; renting a car is common for flexibility.
La Serena / La Florida Airport (LSC): A more distant regional airport; most travellers to La Ligua use Santiago for better flight options and road links.
Train: Chile’s passenger rail service does not provide a practical passenger link into La Ligua for most travellers; regional passenger rail is limited.
