How to Get to La Berra #
From Bulle or La Roche: drive or take regional buses toward Les Paccots and follow signs to La Berra lift-station/parking (approx. 20-30 minutes by car from Bulle). Several marked hiking trails climb from Les Paccots village (about 1-2 hours on foot).
Tips for Visiting La Berra #
- Use the trail from Les Paccots (1,100 m) rather than the road approach - it climbs through spruce and offers better views of the Fribourg plain.
- Bring crampons in late winter; the summit sees icy patches even with modest snow due to wind exposure.
- If visibility is good, the summit ridge is a prime spot to scan for the Swiss Plateau and the distant Alps - bring binoculars.
