How to Get to Kőszeg
Kőszeg is a historic border town best reached via regional rail from Szombathely or by road from Graz or Vienna. Trains and regional buses are the normal public-transport options; a car is handy for exploring the surrounding countryside.
Graz Airport (GRZ): Graz is the closest international airport to Kőszeg; from Graz take a regional train or bus toward Szombathely and then a short regional connection to Kőszeg (total journey roughly 1.5-2 hours).
Vienna Airport (VIE): Vienna is a major international hub; take an ÖBB Railjet or regional train to Szombathely (or to Vienna Hauptbahnhof and change), then a local train or bus to Kőszeg - allow about 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections.
Train: Kőszeg has a regional railway station (Kőszeg állomás) with services to Szombathely and onward connections to Budapest and Vienna via change at Szombathely. Travel from Szombathely to Kőszeg takes around 25-40 minutes by regional train.
