Kosmaj is a wooded mountain located in central Serbia, south of Belgrade, with a highest point of 626 metres above sea level. It is a locally important recreational and natural area.
The mountain offers day-hike routes and forested tracks that are used for walking, mountain biking and local outdoor recreation. The summit provides open viewpoints over the surrounding Šumadija region and toward Belgrade on clear days.
Kosmaj has long been used for local forestry and recreational purposes and contains small villages and seasonal rural land uses on its slopes. It has served as a nearby nature destination for residents of Belgrade and central Serbia.
The massif lies in the Šumadija area of central Serbia, roughly south of Belgrade and forms part of the rolling, forested hills that separate the city from the interior plains.
