Knocknarea is a prominent coastal hill in County Sligo, Ireland, rising to 327 metres and widely noted for a large prehistoric cairn at its summit.

From the hilltop there are clear views over Sligo town, Sligo Bay and nearby limestone features such as Benbulben; short but steep paths lead to the summit and the cairn which is visible from a long distance.

Archaeological and archaeological-historical sources date the summit cairn to the prehistoric period (Neolithic or Bronze Age) and the site is associated in local tradition with the legendary Queen Maeve. The mound has never been fully excavated and is regarded as an ancient funerary monument.

Geographically it stands on the north coast of County Sligo a few kilometres west of Sligo town, forming a distinctive landmark on the Connacht coastline.
