Kaieteur Airport

There is a single, very small terminal/arrival shelter with minimal passenger facilities - a covered waiting area, basic toilets and a landing apron for light aircraft. Expect no baggage carousels or staffed check-in desks like at larger airports; most operations are handled at the aircraft or from small operator booths.

Access to Kaieteur is almost exclusively by light aircraft (scenic/scheduled charters) from the Georgetown area; typical flight time from Georgetown/Ogle is under an hour. There is no practical public road access from Georgetown for day visitors - river journeys are possible but take much longer and are not the usual visitor route.

• Flights: scenic/charter flights only; plan for ~45-60 minutes from Georgetown by small aircraft.
• Road/boat: overland/river access exists but is lengthy and used mostly for extended expeditions rather than day trips.
• Local transport: on-site transfers are by foot between the strip and viewing areas; no taxi/ride-share services at the airstrip.

The facility offering is minimal: expect basic seating and toilets; no shops, duty-free, or baggage services. There is no formal lounge or airline club. Wi‑Fi and charging points are generally unavailable; bring portable power. Accessibility is basic - terrain includes short unpaved walks and steps; assistance should be arranged in advance with your operator. There is no luggage storage or shower facilities on site.
