Juvanum is an archaeological site in Abruzzo that preserves the remains of an ancient Italic town later integrated into the Roman world. The site contains public buildings and urban remains that illustrate Romanization of a Samnite community.
Excavated areas expose a forum and adjacent public structures, a small theater, portions of city walls, and street layouts that document civic life. The plan and masonry show phases from the late Republican era into Imperial times.
Archaeological work in the 20th century uncovered the major public monuments and made the site available for study and visitation.
Juvanum lies in the interior hills of Abruzzo and is accessible from nearby towns in the region’s archaeological landscape.
