Izrael Poznański Palace

The Izrael Poznański Palace is a large late-19th-century industrialist’s residence in Łódź, Poland, built for textile magnate Izrael Poznański. It is one of the city’s best-known nineteenth-century urban palaces and forms part of a former factory complex.

Guests see the ornate exterior and restored representative interiors of the palace, which present period decoration and exhibitions about Łódź’s industrial development. The complex includes adjoining former factory buildings and an inner courtyard that illustrate the close link between residence and industry in the city’s textile era.

Commissioned and financed by Izrael Poznański, the palace and adjacent factory buildings were constructed in the late 19th century as part of his industrial and residential enterprise. Over the 20th century the property passed into public ownership and was adapted to house municipal museums and cultural displays.

The palace stands in central Łódź within the city’s former industrial quarter and is accessible from major streets in the city centre.
