Iskar Reservoir is a large storage reservoir on the Iskar River to the east-northeast of Sofia, Bulgaria, created by a dam on the river. It functions as an important water supply and river regulation facility for the region.
The reservoir occupies a valley in the foothills of the Balkan mountains and is used for water supply, flood control and local recreation. The dam and reservoir regulate flows on the Iskar River and form a visible landscape feature in the area.
Located within Sofia City Province, the reservoir lies upstream of the capital and is reached by regional roads from Sofia.
