Île d'Yeu

Île d’Yeu is an island off the Vendée coast in western France, part of the Pays de la Loire region, known for a mix of rocky Atlantic coastline, sandy beaches and a concentrated main harbour settlement. It has a long maritime history and a distinct local culture.

The island’s principal settlement is Port‑Joinville, which handles ferry services, shops and visitor facilities; the west coast is rockier with cliffs and coastal paths, while sheltered beaches lie on the leeward side.
