Huniade Castle

Huniade Castle is a medieval fortress located in Timișoara, western Romania, originally founded in 1443 by John Hunyadi. It is the oldest preserved building in the city and a central historic monument of the Cetate district.

The structure contains the National Museum of Banat with archaeological and regional historical collections displayed in restored interior rooms. Visitors can view the inner courtyard, the thick defensive walls and reconstructed battlements that reflect the castle’s defensive origins.
