How to Get to Hrvace#
Hrvace is most easily reached by road from Split (airport and ferry hub). Intercity and local buses provide the main public transport links; a rental car gives added flexibility for rural routes.
Split Airport (SPU): Split is the nearest international airport; from SPU the drive to Hrvace is roughly 45-75 minutes depending on traffic, and taxis or rental cars are common. Airport transfer buses connect Split to Split bus station, from where onward bus services to Hrvace/Sinj area depart.
Zadar Airport (ZAD): Zadar can be used as an alternative with a longer drive; expect 1.5-2.5 hours by car to Hrvace depending on route.
Train: There is no direct mainline rail serving Hrvace; the nearest railheads are in Sinj area historically, but rail options are limited-buses are the principal public transport.
Bus: Intercity buses from Split to Sinj and onward to Hrvace run regularly from Split autobusni kolodvor. Travel time from Split to Hrvace is typically around 1-1.5 hours by bus; fares are affordable (regional single fares in the tens of HRK).

Public buses from Split are the main way to get to Hrvace; for flexibility and access to rural sights a rental car is recommended. Taxis and private shuttles fill gaps where public schedules are limited.
- Intercity / regional bus (HRK 25-60) - Buses connect Split with Sinj and Hrvace; they are the most common public transport option. Timetables are frequent during the day-buy tickets at the station or from the driver for local runs.
- Taxi (HRK 300-600) - Taxis from Split or the airport are convenient for direct transfers to Hrvace, especially if bus schedules are inconvenient. Agree a fare in advance for longer journeys or use licensed firms.
- Car hire (HRK 200-550/day) - Hiring a car at Split Airport or in Split is the most flexible option for exploring Dalmatia and reaching Hrvace and surrounding attractions. Roads are mostly good but can be busy in summer; parking in small towns is generally available.
- Local minibus / shuttle (HRK 60-250) - Private minibuses and shuttle services sometimes operate between major towns and smaller villages in the region-useful for direct transfers or group travel. Book in advance where possible.
