By Air

Debrecen International Airport (DEB) / Budapest Airport (BUD): Hortobágy (Hajdú-Bihar County) is commonly reached via Debrecen Airport for regional access or Budapest Airport for more international connections. From Debrecen it’s a short drive to Hortobágy (around 30-45 minutes); from Budapest allow roughly 2-2.5 hours by car or a combination of train/bus. Regional shuttle/bus fares are modest (single-digit euros), while taxi/direct transfers cost more.
