Hornopirén National Park

Hornopirén National Park is a protected area in the Los Lagos Region of southern Chile that conserves a mosaic of volcanic highland, glacier-carved valleys and temperate rainforest. The park includes rugged terrain associated with the Hornopirén volcanic complex.

Key natural features are steep volcanic ridges, valley glaciers or perennial snowfields and river systems that drain toward nearby fjords. The park supports typical southern Chilean Valdivian temperate rainforest vegetation and associated wildlife.

Access to the park is commonly by road and sea from coastal towns in the region; it forms part of a wider network of protected areas and marine-fjord landscapes in the northern Patagonian Andes.
