How to Get to Hard Bastion #
From downtown Toronto: take TTC Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) to High Park station, then walk south about 10-15 minutes (approximately 800-1,000 m) to the Colborne Lodge entrance. Alternatively, enter from Keele Street or Parkside Drive; there are several bus connections (routes 80, 506) that stop close to the park.
Tips for Visiting Hard Bastion #
- Enter High Park from the west side (Colborne Lodge Road) to reach the oak savannah without crossing the busy Bloor Street entrance.
- Visit in late April-May for the best wildflower display and again in late afternoon for long shadows through the oak trunks.
- Respect restoration work: some areas are fenced for habitat recovery - do not shortcut the barriers.
