Bratislava Airport (BTS): Bratislava is the nearest international airport with the most frequent connections for western Slovakia. From Bratislava you will generally continue by train or bus to regional hubs (Prievidza) and then by local bus or taxi to Handlová; allow several hours for the journey and expect combined fares of roughly €6-€15 depending on connections.
Košice / Kraków / Other airports: Košice and Poprad are far; most international visitors use Bratislava or Bratislava/Brno/Prague depending on routing, but these require long overland transfers to reach Handlová.
Train: Handlová is served by Slovak Rail (ZSSK) regional trains on lines connecting to Prievidza and other towns. The nearest larger rail hub is Prievidza; trains from Bratislava to Prievidza take several hours and fares are modest (single-digit to low-double-digit EUR depending on service).
Bus: Regional buses provide frequent connections between Handlová and Prievidza, Prievidza-Bojnice and other local centres. Bus fares for short regional trips are low (typically €1-€5) and bus links are often the most direct option for final legs into Handlová.
