How to Get to Guarapari
Guarapari is mainly reached by road from Vitória; the nearest major airport is Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport (VIX) in Vitória, from which regular buses and taxis connect to Guarapari. There is no passenger rail service-intercity buses use the Rodoviária de Guarapari as the main arrival point.
Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport (VIX): The main commercial gateway for Guarapari is Vitória’s Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport (VIX), about 60-70 km north of Guarapari. From VIX you can take a taxi or rideshare directly to Guarapari (road time roughly 1-1.5 hours); expect higher fares for airport pickups. Another economical option is to travel from the airport into Vitória city centre and catch an intercity bus from the Vitória bus terminal to Guarapari (see Bus paragraph below, ~1-1.5 hours by road).
(No other major commercial airports): There are no other nearby major commercial airports with regular scheduled service to Guarapari; most long-distance air travel will route through Vitória (VIX) and continue by road.
Train: There is no regular passenger rail service serving Guarapari. Long-distance travel in Espírito Santo is primarily by road, so plan to use buses, taxis or private transfers rather than trains.
Bus: Guarapari is served by the Rodoviária de Guarapari (Guarapari bus terminal). Frequent intercity buses run between Vitória (Terminal Rodoviário de Vitória) and Guarapari; companies such as Águia Branca operate this corridor. Guarapari is best explored by a mix of bus for cheap transfers and taxi/ride-hailing or a rental car for convenience and reaching dispersed beaches. Walking works great inside beach districts; for day trips or airport transfers, plan on intercity bus services or rides from Vitória (VIX).
- Local buses (BRL 4-6) - City and inter-neighbourhood buses link the Rodoviária de Guarapari with key beach areas like Praia do Morro, Meaípe and Centro. Buses are the cheapest way to get around but can be slow and infrequent outside peak times; expect limited luggage space. Buy tickets on board or at terminal booths and check timetables at the Rodoviária.
- Intercity buses (BRL 15-35) - Intercity coaches link Guarapari with Vitória and other coastal towns; the main hub is Rodoviária de Guarapari. Companies such as Águia Branca operate regular services; journeys to Vitória take around 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic.
