How to Get to Gross Windgällen #
Nearest access from the village of Göschenen or from the Maderanertal valley road. Public transport: Swiss Federal Railways to Göschenen, then local hiking paths and alpine trails lead into the upper valleys. For serious climbs, arrange logistics with mountain guides in Uri.

- The standard approach is from the Silenen/Hotel Planura side - the trail is steep and exposed in places so a head for heights helps.
- Attempt only in summer conditions; late-season rockfall can make routes dangerous.
- Photograph the mountain from the Maderanertal valley for the best frontal perspective - early morning light clarifies shape and shadow.
