Gran Torre Costanera
Building South America's tallest building in Santiago
Santiago’s Gran Torre Costanera anchors the Costanera Center complex as Chile’s tallest skyscraper, with a shopping mall and office floors; visitors ride to observation levels for city skyline views.
Gran Torre Costanera is a high-rise office tower in Santiago’s northeastern business district and the tallest skyscraper in Chile. The tower forms part of the larger Costanera Center complex that includes extensive retail space.
The building is notable for its height of roughly 300 metres and for dominating the local skyline; the lower levels connect directly to one of Chile’s largest shopping malls and to nearby transport routes. The complex mixes commercial, office and retail functions rather than being a purely residential tower.
The tower was completed in the 2010s as the centerpiece of the Costanera Center development and has since been one of Santiago’s most prominent modern structures. It was developed as part of a large commercial project to concentrate shopping and office space in the city’s financial area.
Gran Torre Costanera sits in the Las Condes / Providencia area of Santiago within the Santiago Metropolitan Region and is readily visible from many parts of the city.
