Gehrenberg

Gehrenberg is a wooded hill in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located in the Lake Constance region north of the Bodensee. It reaches roughly 754 metres above sea level and is known locally for its summit viewpoint and walking routes.

Hikers and day-trippers use a network of paths to reach the summit, where an observation tower gives wide views across the Bodensee (Lake Constance) and, on clear days, the Alpine chain. The slopes are crisscrossed by short trails suitable for family walks and seasonal mountain-biking.

The hill has long been used for local recreation rather than as a defensive or industrial site; the observation tower and waymarked trails were developed for tourism and local leisure use over the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Gehrenberg sits in the Bodenseekreis district near the towns of Markdorf and Heiligenberg, in southern Baden-Württemberg, close to the northern shores of Lake Constance.
