How to Get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Garmisch‑Partenkirchen is best reached by regional train from Munich or by road from Innsbruck. The town's DB station places you within walking distance of central Garmisch and local lifts; regional trains are frequent and practical.
Munich Airport (MUC): Munich is the main international gateway for Garmisch‑Partenkirchen. From MUC you can take regional trains (with one or two changes via Munich Hauptbahnhof) to Garmisch; total journey time is roughly 2-2.5 hours. Taxis from Munich to Garmisch are possible but expensive.
Innsbruck Airport (INN): Innsbruck is closer by road (about 1-1.5 hours) and a useful alternative for winter travel; you can take a train from Innsbruck to Garmisch with at least one change, or arrange a direct transfer.
