Galleria Doria Pamphilj

The Galleria Doria Pamphilj is a private art collection displayed in the family palazzo on Rome’s Via del Corso. The collection was assembled by the Doria and Pamphilj families over several centuries and remains in family ownership.

Art and period furnishings are presented within the palazzo’s preserved apartments rather than neutral galleries, so visitors move through richly decorated rooms and salons. The single most visited work is Velázquez’s portrait of Pope Innocent X, shown in a dedicated room; the display also includes paintings, frescoed ceilings and period furniture.

The palazzo and its collection grew through the patronage and inheritance of the Doria and Pamphilj families from the Renaissance into the modern era. The building and its interiors reflect successive 17th- and 18th-century refurnishings and have been kept as a family residence and gallery.

Situated on Via del Corso in central Rome, the palazzo sits between Piazza Venezia and Piazza Colonna, within easy walking distance of other central landmarks and museums.
