The Furneaux Group is an archipelago of islands in Bass Strait off the northeast coast of Tasmania, Australia, including several dozen islands of varying size. The group’s largest islands are Flinders Island and Cape Barren Island.

A mix of rugged coastline, sandy beaches, coastal heath and farming landscapes with opportunities for wildlife watching, fishing and boating. Flinders Island provides the principal visitor services, accommodation and transport connections for exploring surrounding isles.

Named after the 18th-century navigator Tobias Furneaux, the islands have histories of Aboriginal occupation, European sealing and pastoral activity. Over time parts of the group have been used for grazing, conservation and small-scale tourism.

Positioned in Bass Strait to the north-east of Tasmania, the Furneaux Group lies between mainland Tasmania and Victoria and is reached by ferry and regional air services from Tasmania.
